Vanuatu establishes cannabis industry

The government of Vanuatu has agreed to set up a cannabis industry to regulate cultivation. The decision means that any cultivation or trade will now operate within strict guidelines designed to ensure health and safety in the new industry. The government has announced that four departments will be involved, with The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity taking a lead role. Five private companies are due to be approved for cultivation licences through a tender process.
