US state of Nevada bans employee cannabis testing

The state of Nevada has passed a bill meaning that employers cannot refuse employment to someone based on a positive test for cannabis. Recreational cannabis has been legal in Nevada for several years, but employers have been able to drug test existing and new employees and refuse employment to those testing positive for the legal substance. There are several exceptions within the new bill including firefighters, and jobs that have the potential to ‘adversely affect the safety of others’.
