US state of Georgia legalises off-trade cocktails

On 5 May 2021, the Georgia state governor approved a law to allow licenced premises to sell cocktails for off premises consumption. Bars and restaurants will be allowed to sell the cocktails in sealed containers; the drinks must have been made on the same day as they are sold and must contain no more than 3 oz of spirits. The same person must both order and collect the cocktails, effectively ruling out third party delivery companies such as UberEats. If picked up by car the cocktails must be placed in the glove compartment or in a locked box.
