US postpones cigarette health warning date

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has extended the deadline for introducing graphic warning labels on cigarette packs. The requirement was initially due to take effect in June 2021 and has now been delayed three times, partially due to disruptions caused by COVID-19. The FDA has issued updated advice asking companies to submit their ‘cigarette plans’ no later than 14 January 2022.
