UK’s medical advisory body rules that cannabis oil is too expensive

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has announced that it will not recommend cannabis oil comprising cannabidiol and clobazam to treat two forms of epilepsy. NICE noted that the drug reduced seizures in people with Lennox-Gastaut and Dravet syndromes, but that the oil was too expensive to be prescribed on the NHS, and that the long-term effects were not yet known.
