UK pilot of Heroin Assisted Treatment launches

A pilot service offering Heroin Assisted Treatment (HAT) opened in October 2019 in Middlesbrough, UK. People using the service will be provided with diamorphine twice a day and will administer the drug under medical supervision. The service is targeted at people who have not responded to other forms of treatment for heroin addiction.
