UK jockeys to be saliva tested for cocaine

The UK Professional Jockeys Association has announced a 2-month trial of using saliva tests to check jockeys for cocaine use. Previously, jockeys were tested using hair or urine – methods that cannot give an immediate result. It is hoped that the new saliva testing will mean that jockeys testing positive for cocaine can be immediately withdrawn from racing.
