Thailand’s $1bn ketamine seizure turns out to be a cleaning product

Earlier this month, Thailand’s officials claimed to have seized almost $1bn worth of ketamine in what was believed to have been the largest drug bust of its kind. Laboratory investigations, however, found that the substance was trisodium phosphate, which is commonly used as a cleaning product. The justice minister reported that the error was caused by a mix up with the preliminary tests.
