Scottish alcohol sales reduced 3.6% after Minimum Unit Pricing

Alcohol sales in Scotland fell in the year following the implementation of Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) on 1 May 2018. In 2018/19, the volume of alcohol per person was 3.5% less than it was in the year before MUP implementation. In England, where MUP was not introduced, alcohol sales increased by 3.2% in the same period.
