Sales of cigarettes up 4.1% in South Korea following COVID-19 travel restrictions

South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance has reported that sales of cigarettes increased by 4.1% in 2020, rising from 3.45 billion 20-cigarette packs in 2019 to 3.59 billion in 2020. Low levels of overseas travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in decreased imports and duty-free sales, and subsequently increased domestic sales.
