Rise in methamphetamine overdose deaths in the US

NIDA has reported that methamphetamine-related overdose deaths in the US increased five-fold over 8 years. Between 2011 and 2018, overdose deaths increased among men from 2 to 10 per 100,000 and among women from 0.8 to 4.5 per 100,000. Among American Indians and Alaska Natives deaths from methamphetamines increased from 5 to 21 per 100,000 over the same period.
