Report on deaths among homeless people in England and Wales

The Office for National Statistics has reported that, in England and Wales, an estimated 778 people who were homeless died in 2019. This represents an increase of around 7% on 2018. Two-fifths of those deaths were drug related, which is similar to 2018 data; however, this remains around 50% higher than it was in 2017. The mean age of death was 45.9 for men and 43.4 for women.
