Pakistan bans point-of-sale displays of tobacco

A new Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) in Pakistan has banned all point-of-sale tobacco product displays meaning that all such products will have to be completely hidden from view. The legislation follows recommendations issued by the World Health Organization’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). The only recommendation from the FCTC that Pakistan has yet to implement is one barring tobacco companies from participating in corporate social responsibility activities.
