Netherlands limits alcohol discounts to 25%

The Dutch government has announced that, from July 2021, discounts on alcoholic drinks will be capped at 25%. The new Alcohol Act aims to discourage excessive alcohol purchasing, specifically among young people. The regulations will only apply to liquor store and supermarket sales and not to promotional events, such as ‘happy hours’ at bars and restaurants.
