Lebanon legalises medical and industrial cannabis cultivation

Lebanon has legalised cannabis cultivation for medicinal and industrial products. The government hopes to raise funds through exports to international medical cannabis markets. For a long time, cannabis has been openly cultivated in Lebanon’s Bekaa valley. The change in policy signifies Lebanon’s intention to build a cannabis industry using existing cannabis producers. Lebanon is the world’s third biggest supplier of cannabis resin and is the first Arab country to legalise cannabis cultivation.
