JUUL prohibited from advertising on media outlets for young people

The US Center for Environmental Health (CEH) has released the details of a settlement with JUUL that restricts the company’s advertising practices. The new guidelines mean that JUUL are banned from advertising on social media, or on media outlets where 15% of the audience is under 21 years old. JUUL will also be prohibited from advertising within 1,000ft of schools and playgrounds, as well as at sports events where people under the age of 21 are admitted. The regulations also stipulate that all models used in JUUL’s advertising campaigns must be aged 28 or over.
