Japan records record number of cannabis offences

Japan’s National Police Agency (NPA) has reported that the number of people involved in cannabis-related offences in 2020 reached a record high. The figure increased for the seventh consecutive year, exceeding 5,000 for the first time. The NPA data indicate that teenagers and young people in their 20s accounted for the majority of offences.
