Ireland postpones ban on cheap alcohol sales

Following an announcement by the Northern Ireland health minister to defer minimum unit pricing for at least 18 months, the Irish government has confirmed it will also postpone plans to ban cheap alcohol sales. The decision was made to avoid a surge in cross-border alcohol retail.
