Increased attempts to quit smoking in India

More than 70% of smokers in India have attempted to quit smoking during COVID-19 lock-down according to a survey conducted by the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World, an organisation funded by the tobacco company Philip Morris International. Two thirds of smokers said they wanted to quit smoking to reduce the health-related risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
