There were 14,666 deaths from cocaine overdose in the US in 2018, representing 4.5 per 100,000 population (age adjusted rate). This almost tripled since 2013 when the rate was 1.6 per 100,000 population. Cocaine overdose deaths were more common among men than among women, increasing from 2.1 in 2009 to 6.4 in 2018 compared with 0.7 in 2009 to 2.6 in 2018. The highest level of overdose from cocaine was seen among people aged 35 to 44. The highest rates were found for overdose deaths that involved cocaine with opioids.
