High court refuses to dismiss child labour case against UK tobacco companies

Two UK tobacco companies, British American Tobacco (BAT) and Imperial Tobacco, have failed to persuade the UK’s high court to strike out child labour claims brought against them. The tobacco companies deny allegations that they are responsible for exploiting farming families and children in Malawi. The claims are set to proceed to trial.
