Greenland town temporarily bans alcohol sales due to sudden increase in violence

The town of Tasiilaq in eastern Greenland has implemented a 2-week ban on alcohol sales following a sudden increase in domestic disturbances, suicides, and other incidents of violence. Authorities have warned the incidents have resulted in the lack of resources available for treating people for alcohol poisoning. The ban was expected to last until 17 September, when the number of alcohol-related incidents was due to be reviewed.
