Gambling costs England’s economy £1.3bn per year

Public Health England (PHE) has estimated that gambling costs England’s economy around £1.3 billion per year. The figure accounts for the negative impact that gambling can have on businesses, mental and physical health and the criminal justice system. People with mental health issues have been identified as being at greater risk of problematic gambling.
