Gambia implements tobacco control laws from 2016

The Gambian Ministry of Health has announced that they are now able to enforce the Tobacco Control Act of 2016. The legislation was passed three years ago but was not enforced because appropriate regulations were not in place. The act contains measures that prohibit smoking in public within 10 metres of other people. The regulations will be published in a range of local languages to aid dissemination.
