Fourfold increase in demand for cocaine treatment in Ireland

Ireland’s Health Research Board (HRB) has published a report documenting a 400% increase in the number of people seeking treatment for cocaine and crack-cocaine dependence, rising from 84 in 2014 to 414 in 2020. Around 80% of those seeking treatment for cocaine use were men, and around 16% did so specifically for crack-cocaine use.
