Finland to introduce new tobacco control legislation

The Finish Institute for Health and Welfare has announced a new set of tobacco control measures. These will include extending the current ban on smoking in public places to include beaches, bus stops, outdoor terraces and playgrounds. The Institute also announced that plain packaging for cigarettes will be implemented in 2023. These measures are part of Finland’s commitment to eliminate tobacco use by 2040.
