Europeans struggle to access drug services during COVID-19 pandemic

In Europe, many people who use drugs have been unable to access support for addiction during the COVID-19 pandemic according to a report by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA). National lockdowns have resulted in reduced treatment and harm reduction services in many European countries, with services facing staff shortages and practical difficulties supporting patients who are socially isolating or who have COVID-19.
