Eswatini bans alcohol sales to prevent COVID-19 transmission

The Eswatini government has banned sales of alcohol from 1 July 2020 following increased cases of COVID-19 in the country. The temporary measure is set to last no longer than 2 months and has been implemented to prevent the healthcare system in Eswatini from becoming overwhelmed. Previously during lock-down, limited alcohol sales were allowed for consumption at home.
