England local authorities ban smoking outside pubs and restaurants

Five local authorities in England have banned smoking on the pavement outside bars, restaurants, and cafĂ©s. The new measures align with the government’s strategy to make England smoke-free by 2025; however, the measures have been implemented earlier than expected because of the increase in outdoor dining whilst COVID-19 restrictions were in place.
