Drug offences up 30% across England and Wales during COVID-19 lock-down

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has reported a 30% increase in drug related offences across England and Wales since COVID-19 lock-down measures were put in place. The ONS highlighted a more marked increase in London compared with other areas, with a 43% increase in offences recorded in the capital. By contrast, most other types of offending have decreased during this period.
