Drug companies agree $26 billion opioid settlement with US states

Johnson & Johnson, Cardinal Health, AmerisourceBergen, and McKesson have agreed a $26 billion settlement with US state attorneys in relation to their role in the US opioid crisis. US states and local governments who sign the deal will be able to use the money to fund opioid-related addiction treatments but will have to drop legal action against those four companies prior to accessing those funds.
