Czech Republic reduces number of slot machine
Czech Republic’s Ministry of Finance has reported that there are now 62% fewer slot machines and 80% fewer casinos since 2016 when a law regulating gambling was passed. The Ministry of Finance has reported, however, that online gambling increased its share of the market during the same time, rising from 10% to 45% of the total gambling activity. The ministry also commented that, in cities, many bars with slot machines had been replaced by cafes, hairdressers and places for children, suggesting a positive effect from the law.
