Czech Republic alcohol sales down 24% during COVID-19 travel restrictions

Alcohol sales in the Czech Republic for March 2020 were 24% lower than in the same month in 2019. The decline has been attributed to reduced alcohol consumption by tourists whilst COVID-19 related travel restrictions are in place. The Czech Republic also reported reduced numbers of people from Germany and Austria crossing the border to buy cheap alcohol.
