Caribbean cocaine trafficking quadrupled in eight years

Seizures of cocaine trafficked through the Caribbean increased from 35 to 184 metric tonnes between 2010 and 2018. The Guyana Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit has attributed the rise to increased demand for cocaine and to improved intelligence sharing among Caribbean law enforcement agencies.
