Bulgaria introduces alcohol ban during elections

Bulgaria has banned alcohol sales during its presidential elections taking place on 11 July 2021. The ban will apply to sales and use of alcohol in catering establishments and public places but will vary across cities. The capital city Sofia will not impose the ban; however, citizens have been advised that no alcohol will be allowed in polling stations and the immediate surroundings.
