Our publisher, Wiley, has surveyed almost 3000 researchers worldwide on their peer reviewing experience and attitudes toward reviewer training and rewards. Among the key findings: most reviewers want more training, journal rank is important to reviewers, feedback from journals is a valued form of recognition, and reviewers want reviewing to carry more weight in their institutions' evaluation process.
